Support the Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment
If you're like me, you are deeply concerned about the direction our country is headed, and you want to know the individuals who are at work, putting hard effort into seeing that our liberty is protected.
On Tuesday, Oct. 27, I joined with other Kansas State Legislators to announce a Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment in areas throughout Kansas — Wichita, Topeka, Emporia and Overland Park. You can watch the video of one of my presentations here.
While the state sovereignty resolution sends a message to the federal government, and it is a powerful message when other states are sending the same message, the Health Care Freedom Amendment does much more than send a message. If passed, it will be an amendment to the Kansas Constitution, acting to preserve the freedom of Kansans to provide for their health care.
You can click here to read the language of the Health Care Freedom Amendment.
Dr. Watson, the president of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (www.aapsonline.org), joined us on the tour. Dr. Watson is a resident of Wichita, and the AAPS was instrumental in helping getting the Arizona constitutional amendment on the 2010 ballot – which will protect Arizona from any federal government takeover of health care. Florida has also taken this action and there are now at least 18 other states with legislators actively working to introduce this legislation.
I am dedicated to:
- Preserving the freedom of Kansans to provide for their health care.
- Safeguarding the liberty of Kansans from any federal government action, which would coerce participation in a health care system.
- Defending the independence of Kansans to pay directly for health care services without penalty.

In honor of your liberty,
Mary Pilcher Cook
