A vote against breast cancer research? Hardly.
There were many things in this particular conference bill, a few of which were onerous and burdensome on small business, such as the requirement that employers had to file electronically if they had over 51 employees, and a requirement that private business information had to be turned over to the department of Revenue where tax credits were issued for small business development. In addition, there were good things left out of the bill, such as tax credits for those who wanted to advance stem cell research from umbilical cords at our state colleges. Mary's vote was not against some of the good items in the bill (most of which she voted for separately), but was against what the Senate did to it, which is what a vote against a conference committee report often is.

Also, perhaps the most important fact the mailer ignores is that Mary voted FOR breast cancer research in HB 2573.

Help Mary fight these distortions by making a donation to her campaign today. Any amount is appreciated!
