November Revenue Collections: Total SGF receipts through November were $8.6 million, or 0.4 percent above the estimate. Tax only receipts were $390,000 or less than 0.1 percent, above the estimate.
*This is the first monthly report on SGF receipts based on the revised consensus estimates for FY 2011 made by the Consensus Revenue Estimating Group on November 2, 2010.
There were no tax sources below the estimates by more than $1.0 million. Insurance premiums exceeded the estimate by $1.1 million, or 52.9 percent for November.
Total SGF receipts through November of FY 2011 were $260.1 million, or 13.3 percent, above FY 2010’s for the same period. Tax only receipts through November, FY 2011, were above those for the same period in FY 2010 by $218.5 million, or 11.3 percent.
New Senators: State Representative Ray Merrick of the 27th Kansas House of Representatives district was chosen on November 22nd to replace Senator Jeff Colyer in the 37th Kansas Senate district. Colyer resigned his senate seat to become the next Lieutenant Governor.
State Representative Jeff King of the 12th Kansas House of Representatives district was chosen on December 11th to replace Senator Derek Schmidt in the 15th Kansas Senate district. Schmidt resigned his seat to become the Kansas Attorney General.
Caucus: The Senate Republican Caucus will meet Monday, December 20th at 10:00 a.m. in room 548-S or by phone for the purpose of selecting a new Majority Leader and an OCR position.
